Internet

Internet is the greatest information giver to the entire world. Not only information, Internet has made life much easier compared to many other factors. One can conduct business sitting at any corner of the world by the simple click of the mouse. It is very easy to conduct monetary functions and many other communicative gestures by the means of the Internet. The Internet has managed to create awareness and interest in all the generation and due to the easy accessibility, it is preferred by almost all the corporate and industrial houses. Internet also plays a major role in providing entertainment. Internet gives information on almost all the aspects of life with the help of the search engines that have maximized the use of Internet.
The search engines in the Internet gathers information and displays them when required by the Internet users. In technical terms, Internet is defined as interconnected computer networks used to disseminate information by means of packet switching by using the standard Internet Protocol (IP). This facility can be accessed by the entire public worldwide.

By the help of the Internet, many things can be performed like sending and receiving electronic mails, attaching files that are electronic, on-line chatting and networking by the means of websites created and launched by the programmers. The concept of world wide web came after the Internet developed. Business, education, travel and entertainment has developed rapidly by the help of the Internet. Internet has protocol suites with which it functions. The Internet protocol suite is a assemblage of standards and protocols brought and set in layers in order to make every layer provide the foundation and services necessary of each layer. Internet has computers and networks that manage Internet Protocol (IP) data packets. Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) relies on IP to solve problems such as data packets coming out of order or is totally absent.

Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) in Internet is an application layer protocol. It functions along with TCP/IP and gives web browsers an access to the files and other documents along with world wide web. In the Internet, the connections are very complex and same is its make up. The Internet is helped by bi- or multi-lateral commercial contracts. There are technical specifications or protocols too in order to disseminate data by network. Apart from such technical associations with the Internet, its function of interconnections and routing remains unchanged. The news of the world can be gathered from the Internet by simply visiting the numerous sites. The Internet has three layers of protocols with which it functions.

The application protocols is the first layer and is on other layers as well. The message specifications and the data formats are sent or processed by this layer. The next layer on top is the TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) and UDP (User Datagram Protocol). The connection of the Internet is done by the TCP. UDP is used where there is connectionless packets like the data packets. The lowest protocol is the IP (Internet Protocol). The data carried by the datagrams or packets are facilitated by this protocol. The information is carried from node to node and thereby disseminates the information to any corner of the world. There are many versions of the Internet Protocol and the most common one is the Ipv4. This version is used more than other versions.
